Welcome to the LET Centre:

All CAC students are very welcome to come to the LET Centre. Apart from during English lessons, students can enjoy the chance to improve their English by participating in one of the many activities the LET Centre has to offer.

To begin with, the following portfolio tasks can be completed in the centre:

  1. Listen to English songs and complete the music worksheets
  2. Log on to the Internet and find the answers in the E-Learning worksheets
  3. Explore the Step-by-Step reading books and progress through the Extensive Reading Scheme
  4. Visit the centre on Movie Tuesday to watch the required movies for class
  5. Complete the required tasks each week for English Builder ”V a great interactive program to learn English in a fun and interesting way

In addition to the portfolio tasks, students can come to the LET Centre for their own self-access learning. ”„Self-access learning”¦ is about learning independently and choosing from lots of different resources and activities to help improve your English. We don”¦t learn English just from textbooks and in the classroom!

The LET Centre also has a huge selection of books to choose from, both fiction and non-fiction, and one of the best school DVD collections in Hong Kong! As with listening to English music, watching English movies is an excellent way of improving our listening skills.

English board games like Scrabble, Monopoly, Cluedo, Quizztory and Word-Up are all available to play at lunchtime or after school. Word-Up is an excellent game to develop students”¦ grammar and spelling in particular, and Quizztory is a great new quiz game to test your knowledge of Hong Kong history!

Remember: the LET Centre is open to all students every lunch time (1:20-2:05pm) and after school from Monday to Thursday until 5pm.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Mr. Mark Thomas, Mr Michael Bown and Ms Jennifer Fong
